Beverly’s Birthdays | Grant to take the party to the children living in shelters, or who attend schools in low-income areas, by providing pre-assembled birthdays in-a-bag for distribution to partner agencies. |
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pittsburgh | Grant to support the Mentoring 2.0 program at Brashear High School that combines college and post-secondary online learning with individual mentoring sessions. |
Casa San Jose | Grant to support newly arrived asylum seekers with temporary housing, school enrollment, healthcare and counseling resources, and basic supplies. |
Catapult Pittsburgh | Grant to support two years of supportive housing for single parents with children two and under. Participants learn about emotional and physical health; child development; financial independence; and achieving housing stability. |
Center for Victims | Grant to support the 150 people (33 percent of whom are children) while living at the emergency shelter because they are fleeing domestic violence situations. |
Duquesne University School of Nursing | Grant to support a Symposium on “The Face of the Person who is Poor” that helps healthcare professionals, policy makers, teachers, advocates, and researchers understand the health and social consequences of poverty and share ideas for alleviating poverty. |
East End Cooperative Ministry | Grant to support a five-week Summer Day Camp for youth that focuses on career development; physical education and recreation; artistic expression; life-skills; and drug, alcohol, and tobacco avoidance. |
Familylinks | Grant to support a collaboration with the City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority to provide case management and therapeutic services for low-income families to help them achieve stability by addressing mental health, substance abuse, and psychoeducational needs for the entire family. |
HEARTH | Grant to provide housing and supportive services to women with children who are experiencing homelessness because of they are survivors of domestic violence or other traumatic situations. |
Homeless Children’s Education Fund | Grant to support an after-school program offered at four shelters and three elementary schools to advance their education by guiding and mentoring them to become empowered, productive citizens. |
Jubilee Association | Grant to support a homeless prevention program connecting families to job search and training resources, childcare, hot meals, food pantry and other social services. |
Light of Life | Grant to support Women and Children’s program, which provides subsidized apartments, training and education, childcare, and transportation support to mothers with children experiencing homelessness, or are recovering from addiction or substance abuse. |
RAND | Grant to support objective research and analysis that helps develop solutions to public policy challenges to make communities safe, more secure, healthier, and more prosperous. |
The Salvation Army | Grant to support Pathways of Hope, which provides wrap-around services that includes supportive services for children, assisting in securing documents required for employment, and job training for employment and provides transportation. |
Sojourner House | Grant to support the MOMS Supportive Housing Program, which provides addiction recovery support, mentorship, and other services to help clients secure permanent housing, gain job training and secure employment. |
South Hills Interfaith Movement | Grant to support fragile families with children by providing direct assistance for basic needs for those facing a financial or housing crisis. |
Tickets for Kids | Grant to support the Cultural Access Program, which distributes donated tickets to arts, cultural and entertainment events for children living in shelters. |
Women’s Center & Shelter | Grant to support the Children’s Advocacy Program, which provides such supportive services as healing advocacy and counseling to child victims of intimate partner violence – most of whom are experiencing homelessness |
